Diervilla Mountaineer® Lava Flow™ (D. x. 'Nonwolf')

Quick to leaf out in early spring in shades of coppery-purple, Lava Flow’s foliage contrasts perfectly with its yellow trumpet-shaped summer-borne flowers, which arise at the tips of upright oriented greenish-maroon seeds which become increasingly neon-crimson as the season progresses. By fall, they provide perfect contrast to the foliage which has darkened to deeper shades of purple as the season progresses. Lava Flow is effective as a large scale groundcover, hedge or backdrop plant and thrives in well drained soils with companions.
